What is the Library?

Hayward High’s campus has many different areas that can equip its students with what they need. It is a space that makes being on campus a little easier and also much more enjoyable. Walking in, you’ll see rows and rows of bookshelves with almost every genre of book you can think of.

Whether you are looking for something to read in your own time or a book for a class, Hayward High’s library is accessible to all and will do its best to help suit your needs! With about thirteen full rows of books, there is something that will suit every student’s needs.

The library is not just a place for reading; after school, it is the main place for math tutoring, often covering topics up to Algebra 2. Students can drop by right after sixth period and get the extra help that they need, and the quiet environment makes it easier to focus, whether someone is working with a tutor or is just working on their homework in the library. For those not in need of tutoring, the library is a great place to be able to have your own space and complete any work in peace with friends or by yourself.

Ms. Walker, Hayward High’s dedicated librarian, plays a crucial role in enhancing the library’s accessibility and functionality. She is always available to help students check out books, research documents, or anything else that is related to the library. She is approachable and kind, so if anyone has any questions to ask, she is more than happy to help.

Importantly, the library is not only about academics. Sometimes it is just simply a nice, calm place to go to when the rest of the school feels overwhelming. Overall, Hayward High’s library is not just shelves of books but a place that students can utilize to best suit their needs and use as a helpful resource for academics and personal time. It is a space that everyone can benefit from.
