DTR Behind the Scenes: Judges

Ever wondered how the judges for DTR are picked or how everything is scored in order to determine the winner? Don’t worry, journalism has the inside scoop. For DTR 2025, there were a total of five judges.

They included HUSD and HARD members along with two HHS alumni. We had our very own HUSD President, Peter Bufete, and HUSD Superintendent, Chien Wu-Fernandez. Alongside them, we had HARD Recreation Coordinator, Thomas Prudinovski. And finally, returning from the class of 2017, Jonathan Fermin Ledda and Jeffrey Nhin, who were both Co-Vice Presidents.

DTR judges are chosen based on who ASB thinks are influential within the community. During the rally, the judges pick whichever class they think did the best based on a variety of categories including each class’s float, dances, class selection (seating areas in the gym), and more. All the categories can be found in the yearbook so you can look back at older yearbooks and check out the categories for yourself and also see who won the previous years. Congratulations to the Juniors, class of 2027 for winning the overall of DTR 2025!
