DTR Sophomores

On Oct. 17, Downtown Rally commenced. The Sophomores repped the Adventure Time theme. During the rally, many sophomores left, making the Sophomores smaller in comparison to the other groups, though that didn’t stop the class from being the loudest during the rally. Soriya Finkes, a sophomore, weighed in on her thoughts of the rally, “I thought DTR was more organized this year than last year. I expected the Seniors to win since they had won last year. It would be cool if another grade level won this year! I don’t want to be biased but I do think the sophomores were the loudest, though it sucks that some people dipped in the middle of the rally.”

She continued, “If nobody left, I think we would’ve had a shot to win. Overall, it was really fun and we all definitely had sore throats after.” The Sophomores really tried to nab 1st place but ultimately fell to the neck-and-neck of the Junior and Senior classes. Soriya herself expected the Senior class to take home gold. Two more students, Brandon Venegas and Elizabeth Enriquez both agreed. Enriquez said, “I was lowkey expecting the seniors to win like they always do. They always pick seniors to win because they’re leaving and it’s their last DTR.”

Venegas shared the same sentiment, “I thought it was rigged so the Seniors could always win because it’s their last year here. Like, maybe it’s rigged if your class has ever won DTR since sophomores and freshmen never won.” All classes did well during the Rally and Juniors definitely deserved their win, hopefully next year the Juniors can win again so this year’s Sophomore class can get a win under their belts.
