Phone addiction has become a very serious problem for many teens (including myself) and we need to start paying more attention to this topic because it’s come to my attention that it’s a worldwide problem.
Phones are very important and helpful, but a lot of teenagers spend hours on hours scrolling through social media without even realizing it till it’s too late. It’s such a distraction from everything like school, sleep, and real life relationships. Notifications make it hard to focus, always wanting to check our phones every two seconds, and it’s also easy to feel stressed when you’re always checking what everyone else is doing.
Too much screen time can affect our moods effectively and make it harder to enjoy things offline such as our real lives and spending time with family and friends.
A lot of people say phones aren’t such a big deal because they help with communication and school. Which is true, phones can be used for many things in different situations. But being helpful doesn’t mean they can’t also be distracting. It’s about having some type of balance, not banning phones.
Phone addiction is something most teenagers have dealt with in recent years and it deserves more attention. By setting healthy limits and being more aware of how much we’re using our phones, in that way we can stay connected without feeling overwhelmed.
